It all started 11 days ago, when....
I have arrived in my new home in a raining evening. My flight was delayed, there was nobody to wait for me in the airport, so many challenges I smiled at. Met 2 amazing people an Italian ( Marco) and a Romanian intern ( Simina) that got me to my new home. An incredible flat and room was waiting for me in Sesto San Giovanni. The flat owner is a brilliant guy, that works for Coca-Cola for some years, the apartment is brand new almost, all the furniture and all , I had to get the plastic off my new bed :)) Italian bureaucracy is totally crazy, found out in my first night that I have to make my internship for 6 months instead of 12 and after to find a new solution to prolong another 6. Another challenge I smiled at...
And so the adventure started , I had 1 week to solve documents and explore the city. Simina was my guide and became a good friend I am looking forward to meet every time, thank you Simi - you are a special crazy passionate romanian I am happy I've met and have in my life .

I am not a fan of big cities but the irony is that I end up living in big cities. Hyderabad, London, Budapest and now Milano, cities that cover me with experiences, challenges, love but also disappointments at times. My Milano is a city of fashion people say but I tend to believe is the city of rainbows, it if full of beautiful people and not because of cloths but because of diverse colors ,culture and way of acting. Walking around Milano you can fall in love with people, buildings, smiles. At time you may feel suffocated by the architecture of the city, like a rain of grey is coming over you.
My favourite place in Milano is on the stairs of Duomo cathedral. Seeing the expression of tourists when they see Duomo cathedral and square the first time is just amazing. The view of the Duomo often leaves tourists in awe , just like I felt also when I first have seen it.
"Every day this city wakes up a minute before", said Marcello Marchesi describing Milan’s frenzied buzz of activity, a city often unaware of its social fabric absorbed as it is in its routine or distracted by the abundance of events and amusements.
The Lombard city is addictive, famous, the home of some of the world's most sought after clothing brands. Aside from fashion, this city is notable for its establishments that has always been screaming with elegance. Thus, Milan has served as one of the most favorite shooting places worldwide.
What makes Milan so interesting is the fact that it is one of the oldest cities in the world and yet it still managed to preserve some of the best loved architectural masterpieces dating back to 300B.C, it is just amazing to take evenings walks in random places and explore, let yourself go.I have still not tried the night life and opera but people say this are 2 of the things that make you love this city.
When in Milan, aside from the seemingly endless shopping, Milan is also known as Italy's most important cities financially thus, it is also the business district of Italy where many of the country's biggest companies have their office. One of them is Alcatel Lucent and I am very happy and honoured to be working in such professional environment.
Historical monuments are also just around this city. The Castello Sforzesco is where the Sforza-Visconti ruling families of Milan resided. It is my second favourite place in Milano. Sundays is the perfect day to go and explore it. Today, it is the home for several museums.
Boring is certainly not a word to describe Milan. The night life I have discovered so far is both wild and easy, wild in the sense that gorgeous Milanese and tourists are all over the center of night life or in the of the Columns drinking and singing till morning lights arrive..
Milan is the new adventure that I have taken, Alcatel Lucent a new career challenge I accepted, cheers to a new beginning my friends and family, I miss you all. Another big city life in a city that is worth visiting, going into its deep.
For now Milan is for me a city to explore, a city of diversity and very beautiful people inside and out, a home I appreciate and a culture I am still discovering…
My dear family, all this wouldn't have been possible if you wouldn't be on my side all the time, ready to support me, loving me from the core, listening and giving me the best education ever, I love you all and miss you, my success will be your success and my happiness will be your happiness.
Kind regards,
Nico
