I haven't written for some while now and that is mostly because there are experiences and moments that can't be put in words to describe and I'm afraid not to make them seem less than they actually deserve. Yes I am back to my home, my Romania, my city and I am living a new side of my life. Shaping new dreams, changing expectations, adapting to a new world, talking less about life and living it more. From time to time I do go back in time to special moments, close my eyes and just stay there in that moment, as it gives me power and smiles to share.
Today,I went back in time to my trip in Darjeeling, a small city in Himalaya.
I was there with a more than incredible friend Elroy (Singapore). There was a special time because I met a friend that left a strong fingerprint on my heart by showing me that humanity and friendship is out there and is stronger than ever and it's so beautiful when you actually get to see that. We went in one morning to a place that challenged my perspectives about life and people.
The place is called "Tibetan Refugee Center " and it was somewhere in the mountain, so it was a great journey till there. When we arrived there we started to check out the place and there were a few things that got my attention and one of them was this piece of paper on the wall with Dalai Lama's poetry called "The paradox of our lives".I want to share his words with you, as I know it had a powerfully impact on me. It goes like this :
" We have bigger houses and smaller families/ More conveniences but less time; We have degrees, but less sense; More knowledge, but less judgement; More experts, but more problems; More medicine, but less healthiness. We've been all the way to the moon and back; But we have troubles crossing the street to meet the new neighbor; We have built more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever; But have less communication. We've become long on quantity but short on quality, these are times of fast foods and slow digestion; Tall men and short character, steep profits and shallow relationships; It is time when there is much in the window and nothing in the storeroom. "
I do hope there are people out there that make time to meet friends and cross the street to meet the neighbours, that actually see and appreciate people around them, even the strong ones. Everybody loves strong people, because they don't ask for anything, but that doesn't mean they don't need anything and I am one of the strong people also.
I do hope there are people out there that are honest and communicate and put accent on quality, that have strong values and even stronger character and avoid having shallow relationships. I hope the people in my life or that met/will meet me are people that are willing to help other and share their happiness , as Zig Ziglar said:
"You can have everything in life that you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want."
Open up, share, love, care and be honest, show humanity and don't be afraid to get hurt, that will make you stronger.
Kind regards,
Nico
